PROFILES Founders John Versical Creative Partner/Technical Director John Versical has worked in the film and television industry for over 8 years. He has worked in a myriad of positions ranging from editor, producer, location sound mixer for films, to camera operator and sound mixer for several broadcast TV shows. Today, John works as a cameraman and sound mixer on projects ranging from ‘behind the scenes’ featurettes for films currently being shot in Chicago (Shall We Dance, Batman Begins, Stranger than Fiction), television shows such as “Designer’s Challenge”, “Design on a Dime”, and “Designed to Sell” for HGTV, and industrial training videos for International Truck and Engine Corporation. John is the Technical Director for the company and oversees the technical side of ‘all that is production’ for Screen Door. John currently has several projects in development, including a short film called “The Swing”, set to begin filming in June 2006. When John isn’t working, he actually enjoys injuring himself on small carpentry projects, furniture refinishing, battling his yard, and puttering around on a riding mower at his family’s northern Michigan property...
Bryan Carmody Creative Partner/ Managing Director After graduating from the University of Iowa with a degree in acting, Bryan took a left turn straight into the corporate world. Three years into it, he took off the tie and founded a non-equity out of pocket theatre company called “Babaganouj” with his U of I theatre compatriot playwright Michael Moran. After 2 years, and 2 critically acclaimed Moran pieces, Carmody decided that to fully realize his creative vision he had to get it seen and funded, and he submerged himself back into the corporate machine for another 10 years, and was successful enough in sales to again plunge headlong into seeing his creative energy manifested. Now out of the box, he’s a SAG voice over actor here in Chicago and is the Managing Director of Screen Door, Inc. Bryan has an extensive sales and marketing background, as well as experience producing, directing, teaching and composing for film and theater. In addition to managing the creative and business end of Screen Door, Inc. Bryan hopes to hone his writing and directing skills while ensuring Screen Door emerges as one to watch in the rapidly rejuvenating Chicago Independent film community. Bryan hopes that begins with his collaboration with John Versical on Producing “The Swing” set to begin filming in June 2006. When Bryan isn’t working he’s usually camping, fishing, playing music or napping --- sometimes at John’s northern Michigan ranch. While John mows. |
